Back in the Texan's Bed by Naima Simone [arc review]

Will they ever learn… that giving in to desire is playing with fire? After discovering he has a secret son, oil heir Ross Edmond isn’t letting Charlotte Jarrett walk away again. He proposes they move in together—to share their son…and a bed. But Charlotte has secrets, and Ross doesn’t know the real reason his family’s former chef left town three years ago—and they  still  have a powerful enemy who could bring them both down… I am at a loss for words. I have no idea how to review this one... do you have a trope you hate?! I do- babies/kids in romance books. There is NOTHING romantic about them. Nada. Maybe if you've never been a mum?! Anyways, I know thats a trope many of you love, just ain't for me. BUT, its Naima... and she writes gold. She also makes this non book crier cry every f***ing time. So I was pretty sure I wouldn't love this one but it would be good. And most importantly,  it wouldn't get me teary... Famous last words 😅🤣 Go read it. And when you

The Warrior King (Inferno Rising #3) by Abigail Owen [arc review]

I absolutely adore this series. Any time anyone asks for a paranormal/dragon shifter recommendation this series comes to mind.  Books in the Series so far and reviews: -  The Rogue King -  The Blood King Blurb for The Warrior King : Meira Amon is the most reserved of the phoenixes, finding computers easier to deal with than people and their messy emotions. But she wants revenge against the Rotting King Pytheios for the murder of her parents just as much as her sisters. Offering herself as a queen for their ally, dragon shifter King Gorgon of the Black Clan, only makes sense. Just one problem… Samael Veles worked his lowborn ass off to become the fiercest warrior of the Black Clan. He has pledged his life to protect his king at all costs. Yet somehow, in the middle of war, he took one look at a woman in a reflection and gave up his heart. When that woman turns out to be the phoenix promised to mate his king and help bring peace to their kind, he has no choice but to accept it. Until her

Someday My Duke Will Come (Isle of Synne #2) by Christina Britton [arc review]

How good was this book you ask? Good enough that I am ordering the first book in the series immediately. Hello Christina Britton, nice to meet you, and welcome to my 'must read everything she writes' list. It's a short list, specially for historical romances. Although I enjoy the stories, I also often find them tedious to read and it takes me a week or two to get through one book. Which to some is normal, to me it is not. I like taking about 3 days per book. How along did it take me to read this one? 2 glorious days. And so, 5 glorious stars to Someday My Duke Will Come ! Blurb: A fake engagement becomes the real thing in the next book in the series New York Times bestselling author Grace Burrowes calls "first-rate Regency fun!" Lady Clara Ashford's world changed fifteen years ago at the hands of a rogue who took her innocence. Determined never to give into temptation again, she settles into a life as caregiver for her family. With her younger sister recently

Happy Singles Day by Ann Marie Walker [arc review]

How do you feel about holiday reads? or small town/seaside novels? Happy Singles Day  reminds me of the easy to read novels that came out every Christmas and of small town seaside novels.  Paige, a Certified Professional Organizer in Chicago has everything in her life in order. After one very bad experience with her ex and her old boss she started her own company and is very successful. But, she is in desperate need of a holiday. The perfect opportunity appears after she clicks on an ad for Happy Singles Day.  What better time to go away? Because who needs  a man? Certainly not Paige.  Once Paige arrives at the small sea side town in the middle of nowhere she soon realizes things are not as they appeared on the website. For starters, there are no cars in town. She needs to get on a bike to get to the B&B. Once she does get to the B&B it looks like someone's house, with crap all over and definitely not set for the peaceful holiday week she was looking for. On top of that, th

The Fallen Angel Trilogy by Kim Loraine

Waking the Watcher Denying the Watcher Releasing the Watcher This serieswas a fun paranormal and erotica trilogy. Each book focuses on a different couple but the background story on the first two books gets resolved in book 3, and as such, the series should not be read out of order. The background story is Sariel’s, an angel who fell from heaven when he chose to stay on earth with the woman he fell in love with instead of being a ‘watcher’ for God. His job was to watch, not to interact and interfere. When he fell, so did hundreds of others hoping to find the same kind of love that he did. Some did, some are now under the influence of Lucifer. Sariel’s love died not long after he fell -during the flood- and he has spent thousands of years dormant with no body of his own inside the mind of others. On book one he wakes up. He believes that the vampire whose body he is inhabiting has found the reincarnation of his mate. But is she his mate, or is she the vampire’s mate and he

Bane's Choice (Vampire Motorcycle Club #1) by Alyssa Day

My reading year has definitely started well. Another great book to the list! This was my first read by Alyssa Day and it will not  be the last.  The blurb: Vampires are back for a reason! Meet the sexy, dark hero Bane in New York Times bestselling author Alyssa Day's smokin'-hot romance. Bane lost his humanity ages ago. Nothing is more important than protecting his Vampire Motorcycle Club from the death magic invading his territory. The most ancient of vampires, he seeks cold, unfeeling, bloody vengeance...until a frustratingly sexy human doctor is thrust into his path. She tempts Bane to distraction. And distraction is deadly in his world. Buttoned-up and meticulous Dr. Ryan St. Cloud never thought she’d find herself in the mix of a motorcycle club, let alone one full of terrifyingly badass vampires. Or how intrigued she is by their dark and enigmatic leader, who seems balanced on the knife’s edge of killing her...or claiming her. But Bane’s choice is harder than it seems, bec

Love in the Wild by Emma Castle [arc review]

Love in the Wild  was everything you would expect from a retelling that tries to stay as close and true as possible to the original tale while at the same time giving the reader a whole new story.  The are many familiar elements. The jungle,  the boy who grew up with gorillas, the girl... but there are alsonew enticing bits to keep it fresh and interesting.   Tarzan, or Thorne, was taken into the care of a gorilla mama at a very young age.  His connection with the jungle and with the animals was beautifully portrayed. This book is definitely for the animal lover.  There will be many moments of Thorne with the animals that will make you smile. He knows the jungle better than anyone and has carved out a place for himself.  Jane,  or here Eden, is a photographer at the wrong place at the wrong time. Thorne saves her life and tries to claim her as his mate. His animalistic instincts are strong and although Eden knows she should take it slow with him she finds hard to resist his
